Well, 6 is clearly unrelated. If you list Linux you could as well list
MacOS X or QNX or BeOS or whatever...
4 (AmigaDE) is not a desktop system. While it *is* an AmigaOS, it is
not what people want if they ask for a new Amiga Desktop Operating system.
It WILL be a very interesting technology if you plan to get a NextGen PDA
like the Shark, though. But for the PDA, not for your desktop system.
My opinion of course. I think hosting AmigaDE on something else is mainly
interesting for AmigaDE Developers (it is a nice feature then... you can
test your application without having to put it on your PDA first).
2 (WarpUP) will run on 3 (OS 4.x). Alan Redhouse said some times ago
that OS 4.x will support running WarpUP Applications.
1 (68k) apps will also run on OS 4.x due to 68k Emulation. Of course 68k
Emulations ALSO run on Amithlon and such, but Amithlon won't support PPC
apps, neither apps which use other OS 4.x features. So it is sort of a
dead end. I think something like Amithlon is mainly interesting for people
who do not have an Amiga Hardware anymore and would like to run some of their
old programs on their PCs.
5 (Well, you probably know my opinion on that one... not really interesting
for commercial developers... and OS 4.x will make it sort of obsolete...
OS 4.x is also a PPC Native OS with 68k Emulation...)
So there are not really THAT many paths.
Steffen
